THE COMMUNITY HUB
Good ideas are found everywhere – and we would like to help them flourish. At the Immigrant Museum, we think of ourselves as a cross-cultural community house. A place where you have the opportunity to share your new and exciting thoughts and reflections with your fellow citizens. We believe that co-creation is the way forward towards greater interpersonal understanding. Therefore, we would like to provide a space for activities that strengthen cultural encounters and democratic conversations.
Do you have an idea for an event about migration but need a place to hold it?
Then contact us at museerne@furesoe.dk or explore some of our activity concepts below.
Research Seminar
Are you about to complete your PhD or postdoc? Or have you contributed to a highly relevant and exciting research project that you would like to share knowledge and insights from? Spend a few hours or a whole day presenting and discussing the results of your latest research with us.
We have the possibility to host seminars with 20-130 participants, and we are happy to help with invitations and organising the event.
Lectures and Presentations
Do you know everything about the German refugees after the Second World War, the history of guest workers in Denmark or the Potato Germans on the heath? Or do you have knowledge about another exciting topic within migration history that you would like to share? Then we have the setting to help you.
Workshops
Do you need help organising workshops on handicrafts, drawing, food, storytelling, genealogy or another exciting topic? We can provide meeting rooms, an atelier and a classroom so that your workshops can become a reality.
Exhibitions
Do you have an idea for an exhibition on a topic related to migration history that you would like to bring to life? We have a special exhibition space where both art and cultural history can be displayed. All exhibitions are created in close collaboration with the museum’s professional staff.
